Rod's Pizza Cellar

About us

Some restaurants chase trends. We stick with what works, and we have for decades. Our story begins in 1975, when Papa Rod and Mama Rod opened a pizza place because they could not find one they truly liked. Their standards were clear then and still matter now: real cheese that gets sliced at the Cellar, sauces cooked in small batches, and dough made fresh each day.

Since 1975

Once upon a time, in the land of Hot Springs, there was not a very good pizza to be found, so Papa Rod and Mama Rod opened Rod's Pizza Cellar on July 4th, 1975. Soon the villagers came to love Rod's and they asked why it was so good. Papa Rod told them about using only real cheese and slicing it at the Cellar so he could be sure of its quality and freshness. The sauces are cooked in small batches, he explained. Because Mama Rod said to and because Papa Rod knew it would make it taste better. The dough, he pointed out, is made every day at the Cellar because pre-made or frozen dough may have strange ingredients that Papa Rod would not want to serve the villagers. Soon the people wanted pasta too, so all the pasta dishes were added and made with the same care and good ingredients that make the pizza so yummy. Now after many years, Rod's serves all the people of the land, pizza, pasta, sandwiches and salads so that they may live happily ever after!
